I wish I were with you, my love I wish I had my friend But here I am alone, my love It's fallen, night, again I gazed a gazely stare, my love Tonight, upon the moon It made me long for you, my love I wish you hither, soon Alone, in velvet night, my love Alone, in sleepless dark Alone, my doubts are such, my love That I fall short thy mark But still, there is that moon, my love Though small it helps my pain Somehow the wind, it smiles, my love On us, this night, again |

Note: The fifth line is quite plagiarized-- the phrase "gazed a gazely stare" is lifted wholesale from David Bowie's "Man Who Sold the World" (Album of same name, I forget what year; it is properly attributed on www.teenagewasteland.com).
