There is more to life than this
When we start looking into people, instead of at them,
We discover who they truly are
It is more alarming to read the pain in someone's eyes
Than to feel it behind your own
Pain is life,
Loss, Suffering, Rejection
When did these become so romantic?
The darker side of human emotions hardly deserves to be glamorized
In our own mortality,
Suffering is death, and death is entrapment
One could scarcely turn that into a song
It is none but that which we find, recognize, and dread
Only through the misinterpretations of these truths
Can we ignore them
We laugh and play games,
But we know darkness is lurking nearby
Denial has never saved anyone,
And it looks disgusting on you.

It's so obvious
That the promise
Keeps me here
Painting pictures where
All the colors
Disappear
