The Silences Of Me

Etched in walkways from the park to home,
are the silences of me.
The story of the times passing,
the tales of the truth to be had.
Etched in walkways from the park to home,
are the footprints of every tear
that walk me home at night.
Fingerprints for the words I had touched
and my breath on the wind in tune. The prints
of knees in concrete, where I sang out my anger
and wept in this city of stars.
Etched in walkways from the park to home,
is the litter of my stains,...
my scars and their reeking wounds, remains
in trails under the leaves in the fall.
Snow and rain can't wash them away,
they have been drunk by the roots
of the antique trees in nights of needing,
and linger in ways to the door.
They are,...the silences of me.

How does one describe a poem like this?  What words?  What.....?  Exceptional seems so inadequate.  I'll just say, Beautiful.  Hardrock

SpitFire,

I love this one SF. The way you describe the emotions, fears and pain, and gentaly mend them together with the sidewalk.
Very good. I can relate too. I keep silient and hold my emotions.

Spitfire,

I can picture you here, walking alone and forlorn, remembering ...
How do you always manage to write such brilliant poetry?

Your writing is becoming even more intense I had better start building a porch upon which to ponder over your words. THis one aches, your words seem to be getting dark I just hope this is not a true reflection of your life. Take care and peace.

I feel this poem Spitfire. This is the second such of yours that has truly touched me in some way. I hope you continue, for 'tis rare to be taken so with a poem.

Bravo.

Thanks for the resurrection S'en. It's interesting sometimes to see the difference between the "old" and the "new." I recall this being the second of your poems I read lady - Having read others more recently... I see perhaps things haven't changed so much, eh?

Peace,

C

Spitfire -

Everytime I lurk around here I always check out your poems and here's a prime example of why; you have such an extraordinary way with words, my friend! Wonderful work!

I have to agree with all the others this poem breathes life, it's a little of us all,
Sometimes the invisible is not seen but felt very strongly as you have said our imprints go in so many things yet sometimes no one really knows. Beautifully written.

A very strong, well versed piece, holding true to emotion. Imagery is clear and promotes the "feel" of sadness.
