-I work at a drive-thru(beverage)-
she arrives within a car filled with smoke
as her four kids begin to choke
she needs a 12 pack and a pack of belair
her kids choke as they swear
how much, she wonders, will it cost to roll her joint
as her kids want to sniff the air
should i rest my point
12 years later her kids want beer
they haven't seen their mother in over a year
yet every day she needs an easy-wider
and needs it to be free
her kids will never be the wiser
and won't hear it from me

he arrives with pure hatred in his eyes
as his wounded child cries
he needs some beer, by this he swears
the smell of fresh blood in the air
he wonders how much it costs
to dull his loss
the violence reaches its point
10 years later his grandson cries
as his dad tries to make his point

sometimes i wish they would just drive through

This is only my second post, I know it's kind of rough, but if it has made you feel any emotion I guess it has served its purpose.

CD...there is such truth in this vivid picture of a segment of our society.  Just this past Wednesday night I stopped a 10-year old kid at a carnival, walking with his mother, and smoking.  I asked his mother why she let her son do that.  Her reply, "Hell, he buys his own...he ain't smokin' mine, so I don't give a s***".  I'll be seeing him again when he's older.  Nice read.  Hardrock

The real sadness lies in its truth.
