It was your gentle embrace
that I craved so very much
In the silent night,
when all but myself was asleep
I could feel your strong arms
wrapped around my waist,
curled up in a warm, fuzzy blanket
until sleep took over
And dawn would bring more smiles
along with constant affection,
simplistic and wild young love
This is the way it's meant to be,
I love you and you love me
And so I pull you closer,
breathing you in
But as the clock strikes twelve
and the chimes begin,
I am reminded that I lay here alone
Left with longing,
grasping only my dreams

Note: This has to do with the title...if you don't care then skip it.     Well anywayz, the Fairy Godmother in the story Cinderella said that after 12 the spell would be broken...which was the spell that brought her and the prince together. Get the relation? Oh well...it's not important. Thanks for your time.

in my flesh and makes
my bones ache

Nothing worse than a dream-spell broken by the evil monster of waking! I get it!

I think that dream lover could turn out to be a nightmare unless you can cope with waking up alone. Good stuff and clear imagery.

DE...your explanation was not necessary.  I understood the poem perfectly.  I enjoyed it very much.  Hardrock

Sounds familiar to me.

I really liked this part, very vividly
Waking up to find that you're still alone is not a nice feeling. But someday somebody will be lucky to go to sleep next to you, you'll see
