Set Me Free

One day a friend came to me
He told me he was tired
He told me he was in pain
He said he wanted to end it all
I told him that would sadden me
I asked him if I could help carry his burden
He said no, and I urged him not to go
He asked me a question
He said
Does it pain you to know I want to be free?
Without my answer
I knew he was already gone

This was so sad hon, knowing you couldn't help your friend, wanting to, but the fight is really there's alone... Well done

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

i really can't say anything to ease or change the situation.  all i can say is what a excellent way to deal with your feelings.  it says so very much. good work.

Across the gateway of my heart,
I wrote "No Thoroughfare!!"
But love came laughing by and
Cried "I enter everywhere!!!"

"Does it pain you to know I want to be free"...I understand the question perfectly.  Hope your friend took some time to ponder this decision.  Well done...Hardrock
