Sitting here thinking of you
All the memories that have come true
All the times you laughed and cried
You were always there standing by our side
A simple hug you gave each day
To all the things you would always say
To show us love in every way
And you knew we loved you each and every day
The memories of you will always hold true
With your smile as you chased away the blues

For my Great Uncle that passed away today.  Love ya so much Del

I sit here and question myself
For I wanted death to take me
So many times I begged for him
For I thought only he had the key
Yet never once did he look my way
Or even let me see the light
I just dont understand the ways of Death
I sure wouldnt of put up a fight
Yet with all my begging and pleading
He takes a good soul as you, instead
I would trade places with you , if I could
I would be the one lying in the coffin , dead!

Once there was a darkness
Deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had
Ahhhhhh you gave me light

DKW, I think both of these were excellent. The last one sad if you feel badly and think about being gone...Im sure you are a wonderful person and needed here. I know through my struggle with my illness I sometimes dream of a place without pain..Hope your ok, thanks for sharing, Deb1

DkW...I just read this today.  I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you when you wrote this.  One line stands out in my mind, "I just don't understand the ways of death".  I hope you never do, because with death, understanding does not bring enlightment.  Lots of hugs from the Hardrock.

Oh, shoot, I'm sorry I did not see this the day you wrote it. I know that sad and terrible feeling when someone you love dies. Both of the poems were very beautiful. And stick around here with us, we need you way more than death does.
Peace, be happy.
