You spoke...and your dear words
Have left an echo in my heart
That follows all the paths I take.
Above the strife of turmoil
It resounds...
And in the silence of the quiet dark
It makes its way.
A whispering ghost, it lingers ever
Beside my faltering steps.
And through the Desert of Desire
It companions me.
Need all my life be lived
With but an echo?  I cannot tell.
Save only this I know-
That while the echo breathes, I live...
And when the echo dies,
I go!

~Whoa Rex,...a lasting feeling this leaves in me. An echo,...hhmm, something about them that just keeps the message going making it so interesting. Much enjoyed. "That while the echo breathes, I live...And when the echo dies, I go!" WoW. *Peace.

So sad to live only on memories, but so true! Your work is inspiring!

Rex, I had a poem like this halfway formed in my mind for the last few weeks but it would not come out. You said it so well, I think I won't bother.  . Oh I know that feeling so well, when the echo dies, I go.. Very beautiful and meaningful.

That was again very beautiful Rex - Even the blank verse you write echoes with the sound of poetry - And the echoes will never die Rex - they will be reborn again and again...
