Slowly I opened my eyes
Feeling a cold stare
It was so overwhelming
Something I could not bare
I stepped onto the floor
Not knowing what I would feel
My body begun to shake
Wondering if I can heal
I slowly walked forward
Reaching my hand out
I felt a warm hand on mine
Not knowing what its about
My body was pulled inward
I was thrown onto the floor
I heard a loud crash
It was the closing of the door
I wanted to scream so loudly
To kick and to run
I wanted to be set free
For I wanted to see the sun
My mouth was covered and gagged
My hands were tied so tight
"GOD help me through this" I said
As my body trembled in fright
I knew it was up to me only
I must set myself free
So I closed my eyes tightly
And thought of happiness to be
You see... this abductor was not a man
It was the demon within me
I left my heart open
A home he thought he could see
Another battle I have won
On this July's eve
I drift back to sleep
For myself I do believe

Once there was a darkness
Deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had
Ahhhhhh you gave me light

Truly excellent poem Dark...I relate very well to what you've expressed and I must say you've hit it right on the mark.   I like how you showed your strength and courage in the end....never giving up...'twas a great read!

Dreams often touch on the edge of reality, playing on our fears, forcing us into confrontations, often with ourselves.  Sounds like yours do too...Nicely done.  Hardrock

Well, not bad. I think that we all have little demons in our souls waiting to pounce at our innocent hearts...

Very nice, with a good surprise ending.. It read like a story, you could see it happening. Very vivid.
