WHAT WORDS CAN'T EXPRESS: All the times you held me close as I clung to the only secure thing I knew. All the unconditional love and never-ending patience as time after time I didn't understand. All the grace and mercy surpassed only by God as in foolishness I didn't deserve it. All the tenderness and empathy of one joined by blood, not circumstances. All the comfort and soothing of a mother to a hurting child, who surfaced after many years. You were not frightened away. All the precious time wasted, yet you'd say necessarily invested, to just be there for me. All the pain you went through to keep me, comfort me, carry me and push me forward. All the faith, never failing faith, as I waivered and doubted and weighed, you always stood strong. All the struggles within, as I tried to keep it my way. You even betrayed yourself for me. All the ways you made my life special. All the ways you made me feel special. All the things you told me I would do and become, when I couldn't tell myself. For all your self-sacrificing through our time together, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. For everything you did for me, my heart's cry, as you know it, is for you. For never giving up on me, I will never be able to repay you, I am forever indebted. And for loving me when and like no-one else did, I am quiet. Because words can never express How much I love you. (I wrote this for my closest and dearest friend, for the two years we had together.) |
