Separation Anxiety

It starts when I leave you in the mornings,
The longing, the emptiness I feel,
Like a part of me has been left behind.

All day I dream of you, wanting to be with you,
Remembering the night before,
Us, together, alone.

I clock-watch, willing the hands to move,
The anticipation building as the hours drag by,
Aching to be with you again.

Rushing home, cursing the traffic, slow drivers,
Wishing I lived closer…or never had to leave,
Knowing that tomorrow it starts again.

Newspapers crushed under tires, left in the rain,
Unopened and unread mail on the countertop,
Unmowed grass in the yard.

And then I see you, gaze into a loveliness only imaginable,
I touch you, feel your smoothness….and the passion starts,
I move next to you, heart racing, breath coming in fits.

My head spins, my eyes cloud over with desire,
My inner being screams with ecstasy.
I am one with the universe….I feel the love.

And I know that I am just a keystroke away,
From all that is good in you,
My beautiful computer, my friend, companion and lover.

(Yeah, I know, I need to get a life)

Such passion!! Many would love to feel your fingers tickle their keys, but normally you can only gaze into one computer screen at a time and whisper to her your poetic lines.

Ok, you had me going there. I was lost in another moment of nostalgia, rushing home to be with someone wonderful..Remembering the days...Then-HA! It was your computer. My web and I have a similar relationship, but its notoriously difficult. Obviously a man..
Great poem, good humor too.

Very well written, oh to share this passion with a computer, at times I know what you mean, but children and dinners come between me and that love.

The damned thing is going to get us all divorced/sacked/imprisoned/starved to death or something like that - LOL - That poem was so good! And right on the spot!
Good Show Hardrock - you have a lovely spirit within you and a very nice sense of humour!

Thank you all for your kind words...but I really have to give credit to my computer.  She's the one with the sense of humor...she has 4.3 "giggle" bytes of memory.  (Sorry, I just couldn't help myself).  Love you all, Hardrock

My dear friend Marv

It's so good to read your amazing work again.
This poem was really superb, and if you get this passionate about your PC, I can't wait to see what you can write when she takes second place to a human companion.

You have a wonderful poetic gift.  Thanks for sharing with us.

Loved it.
Love Sylvia

Funny, when I was reading this I was thinking:
I know that feeling, that's how I feel about dark passions
Another brilliant poem, Marvin. Very well written, great flow, makes you feel the madness of addiction ...

Hey, you know, sometimes a vivid imagination is far better than the reality of "life!" Great job!

Well done Marv, well done!  Enjoyed it very much.

Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.
