An Engineers Prayer

You go to work
You stay all day
But will they take
Your job away

It's time again
For the corporate Weasel's
To rearrange
The drawing easel

They switch and mix
And move around
All your friends
Right out of town

They make you do
The job's you hate
You have to think
What is your fate

When will this madness
Ever stop
They wouldn't do this
To your pop!

I think we should
All get together
And stop at home
To put on our leather

We'll ride at once
To make a stand
And boy we'd make
A merry band

I'd like to see
The weasel's crumble
When we'd pull up
With all that rumble

You see it's not
The job you do
But what's inside
That matters too

Hi! You got me on the week after my review at work. All I can say is RIGHT! The 'big wigs' don't know or care what we do..I'd like to see them send a fax, make a copy or fold and mail 500 copies of a letter!!! I say let's revolt! (Liked your poem by the way!)

Boardman...your pretty well captured the corporate mentality here.  When corporations start caring more about profits than people, you get this kind of disenfranchisement.  Well said.   Hardrock

OK, being at the ripe old age of 15, all I can say is this poem makes me more and more afraid jumping into the job scene LOL.
You make a good point, so you get my vote

I sure do agree with you. The situation is getting worse all the time, the lack of caring about poeple's lives. We should all unite!

I agree whole-heartedly! Very well put! I have been driven mad by such people. (Now I'm freelance   )

I would just like to thank all of you for your wonderful replies. It's people like you that make this world a better place to live!

And it sure is nice to see all the great poems that have poped up here at Passion's.

I haven't had the chance to browse around here much lately. I appolagize for my delayed reply.

Everybody, keep up the fabulous work!
