Lasting Everglades,
Followed are deathly shades,
Scum to this vacant life,
After the death of my lovely wife,
Memories drowned in the sea of terror,
Left no witness or name bearers,
Candlelight melted away,
Shining eternally to find the way,
Emotions are exemplified,
By the thoughts of your surmise,
Approaching the alley of darkness,
Leaving behind the deathly shades,
Which path is greater?
Only I know better.

What an intense poem. But I do hope it's not based on experience!

"For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?"
