Asinine Chase
Questions that allow no answers,
Trivial pursuit of pretend happiness,
Do you feel it?
Is it ever really there?

Why do we always want what's in the other box?
Why do we receive advice that's never any good?
We expect too much,
We always need more.

Looking over the shoulder of a lover,
Only to see a better conquest,
Trying to seek what you already have,
Is a thirst that is impossible to quench.

Written for a guy who deserves much more than I was able to give him...

Pertinent questions you ask here! It's human nature to never be satisfied, I suppose. Sometimes it's a good thing, too. The difficult part is to recognise something good when you've got it, to detect the limits.

I ask the same questions Jenn. Maybe its not to late to give him that more that he deserved...

I used to think this guy was perfect. A little clingy, but he was the kind of guy every girl deserved. But I didn't love him...sad to say. Actually love kinda scares me sometimes.... Well about the not too late thing...I'm with someone now and I'm really trying out this relationship thing...wish me luck in not screwing it all up! Thanks for the replies and comments.
