Artistic Hypocrite
Painting with a heart of stone,
Eyes, cool pools of glass.
Summoned to his awful home,
Informed me of his love.
I breathe the air supplied by him,
He is my oxygen.

Carries me over broken rocks,
Plummets me through space.
He is my joy and torment,
He is my careful hand.
He takes me to a place I loathe,
He brings me to nirvana.
He makes me contradictory,
He makes me all I want to be.

Written several months ago for a guy named John....
Potential soulmate turned coward.

Know this well. Give me a strong, protective, man who isn't afraid to be there for you, someone who is all man and no mouse.
jeez, Kathleen, get off of your soapbox!!
I loved this, but I'm sorry because I know the feeling that comes with it.

OK...Are we men or are we mice?  Squeak up!! Ahhh Jenn...you captured so well the heady stuff of romance...and the one-sidedness it can take, the deception.  Nice work.  Hardrock

This one is my fav, too, so far. I love the contradictions. A brilliant poem!
