This Man Whom I Love... With his blessings His thoughts I have read, Nursing my insomnia In this wonderful bed. My sleepless nights, Akin to his fears. ‘Be happy’, I say to all my falling tears. I wished a wish Of wishes true, And for a while they came . Then wishes true turned wishes blue, And I can’t forget the pain. Gingerly I approach him, Because, you see, before, I gave them all my love But they still wanted more. The first, you see, I gave my love But he really only wanted wealth. The second I gave both of these, I even gave my health. Huge demands they made of me, And willingly I gave. Two hard hearts sent this soft one, So closely to its grave. I liked it there. And visit it sometimes. When life is barren of happiness bell-chimes. Yes it is, black and cold. And some could not return. But I draw peace and solitude- For which my soul does burn. It took one whole week, To acknowledge all the flashes; To venture from this place, To the world of light and noisy crashes. They set about, to take me from, my place of peace and calm. They pushed and pulled and tried to strike a nerve, They wanted back the easy one, The open heart on a sleeve, Oh so easy to succumb. They thought I wasn’t listening, They thought I couldn’t see, But, not one of them acknowledged The wishes inside of me. I wished for him to come, (this man whom I love) and as I wished, I said ‘Be ready for this one’. Well here I am my wishes And today I call your bluff; For this man, he had wishes too, But did he wish enough. . . . . . . . Reply: He wished enough, but he didn’t wish for too much! ~Love the title. I am not any good at titling my poems and like to see how great other's are at it. I just think that I don't put enough thought into it. ANYWAY,...I enjoyed the poem, well written and sad too though. I too hope all your wishes come true...BUT,...be careful what you wish for. Ok, c'mon, you had to of known SOMEONE would say that. Hehe. Thanks for the well-wishes guys. This is an old poem. I have only caught glimpses of the subject since. If we never wish for more are we destined to settle for less. If we never dream that we can, will we ever be. Is Karma your judge... Is Destiny your queen... Are you who and where YOU deserve to be...? People Everywhere Are Craving Ecstacy |
