~ACHE~

There is no thing more sad in life
than having everything
and still feeling empty
with nothing,
for, even with everything,
yearning is a pain too deep,
to always want what you cannot have,
to long for a love, unattainable,
knowing that to desire or need
is to ache

Very nice Melissa, I know the feeling well. A kindred spirit.

Life be not God's greatest gift. Of what worth be life without the capability to love?

So sad that all our dreams can never come true. But where would we be without them?

~Melissa,...this last part is a killer...."knowing that to desire or need is to ache". Wow,...that's pretty powerful.  Great writing. Do take care. *Peace.

Melissa...everyone's definition of "everything" differs...as you have illustrated here...comparing material desires with what the soul needs...I have been needy in both positions...and if I had the option I'd rather be loved and needy, than secure and alone.< !signature-->

Thank you everyone for the kinds words and encouragement.  Basically, I wrote my poem to mean two things, first, even with all the material possesions in the world at your fingertips, they mean nothing without love, second, even with all your fortune, it means nothing if you are empty inside, material possesions cannot hide the expression of a sad heart.  This poem can be taken many different ways so don't let me tell you what it is supposed to mean, it's only what it means to me

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee

God I know this feeling so well, for my White Dove.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.
