I know nostalgia...
Deep, haunting nostalgia
For treasured things of memory:
The rich brocade of slender leaves
Shadow-splashed upon a wall;
The serene rotundity
Of placid heathen gods
In ageless contemplation
Upon a teak-wood stand;
And the warm, seductive touch of velvet
Thrown in blue abandon
Against a crimson couch.
Moon-frost on lazy, lapping waters,
And the faint fragility of echoes
Born of song.
The phantom call of camel bells
Across painted wastes of sand,
And ancient, faded rugs, in supplication worn.
The deep relentlessness of turbid seas,
And spindrift, like strings of tangled pearls
Tossed high on breaking waves.
The soothing clasp of tender hands
In recompense for pain...
And, lost in the unreturnable nothingness
Of vanished years...
The far-off whisper of a dream!

What a voyage of the mind!!!  I was captivated.  And your reference to turbid seas and spindrift, breaking waves transported me back to my ship....even though I know it was not necessarily a nautical reference.  I'm breathless now......Hardrock

OOOOH yes. this one practically hypnotised me! Your poetry is astounding. You have such a talent to weave tangible images with your words...

Ditto to all the above comments and more!!!!
What can I say?  Umm. This pulls in the reader, you share such feelings/emotions in an almost eloquent way with wonderful visuals as well.  This one is a masterpiece you should consider putting it in the book.
If you do, alert me so I can vote for it!!
