Stealthily in the darkness,
On slippered, silent feet,
A fog stole in from seaward
And spread her mystic sheet.
Made of each gleaming ball of light
A phosphorescent gem,
That might festoon the crescent moon
In a glowing diadem.
She wrapped the leaves of sleeping trees
In wedding veils of white---
Then soaring high into the sky,
Sped onward through the night.
But morning guessed that she had passed,
For glistening far and near,
The fog had left on each fair thing
The traces of a tear.

Rex, you expressed that so well!    Hmm... I will certainly view the fog differently now!  As I was reading, I could see the fog rolling in... it wrapped itself around me as well!! And left me shivering!  Terrific!

Sooo beautiful! Absolutely fantastic (as usual!)

Rex, once again you have captured the imagery so well.  I too felt as well as saw the fog.....and I remembered San Francisco.  Thanks.....Hardrock

I rode bike in the Bay Area in the fog so much, and yes it tears every thing.
