Secure in the mystic boundaries of a magic land,I dwelt;
Lived among cherished dreams, and trod
The resilient grasses that laid before my feet
Their emerald spread; knew the enticement
Of calm,reflecting waters,and fed a weary soul
Upon illusion....
Gossamer bands,strong as tempered steel,
Fell from pinioned wrists;and,tender-sweet,
Past hours of bitterness lived,
Whose ghosts were but shades of recompense
For griefs that once had been.
Song was born in the serene companionship of Faith,
And depth-bound emotions winged an unfettered flight
Beyond silence and despair.
Faint music fell as iridescent dew
Upon drouth swept wastes of thirsting lands;
Each clear,translucent note an entity
To blend in one rhapsodic chord of triumph,
As homage to desires unrepressed!
...Contentment was my pillowed couch,
The coverlet,feathery mists of scented Peace,
And tranquil Night,the lover in whose arms I found
The palliative of pain.

Rex...another great work.  As I read I was transported back to the coffee houses in San Franciso where I whiled away many hours listening to poetry such as this.  Thank you for sharing...with all of us.  Hardrock

I loved this one. Pretty, and mystical. I have felt like this before, that everything has to it a magical quality, and further, that it all belongs to you... I especially loved the line, "and fed a weary soul / Upon illusion...." Wonderful work.
