The Shores of Alone

The strangest thing is going on.
Teenage boys have started
calling me ma'am.
Excuse me,
you must be referring to
my mother,
I know I'm not a day
over 25.
A quick glimpse in the store window.
The rumor confirmed.
Apparently
its true.
Oh my God
when did this happen?
I am a flower child,
a young girl in love,
a poet.
I still have dreams
for my future.
I still expect my prince
to show up soon.
I'm supposed to be the adult?
Be responsible?
Look in the mirror and see
someone else?
And what about love?
When did it stop being free?
Lets just back up here
a minute.
I never agreed to this...

"Are you going to San Fransico?  Be sure and wear some flowers in your hair."  Don't bother, Catalina....Haight Asbury is just not the same as when I lived there (yeah, I was a hippie) One thing I have learned over the years:  Mirror lie!!  They tell you that you are old....but they lie.  As long as you have your young soul, you will never grow old.  Loved it.  Hardrock

Oh yes. I know that feeling. I hate being called a woman, let me be a girl!

"For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?"

Euh!
i thought i was the only one
feeling young at heart
my body going the opposite direction
trying to pull on it my way
making it more wrinkled up
i hate to look in the mirror
when everything inside is fine
