The fog rolled in here this morning,
Quite unusual for this part of the world,
And as I lay in bed ready to rise for the day,
The haunting sounds of fog horns I heard.

They echoed through the fog,
Echoed many miles to reach me,
Haunting and lilting was the sound,
That slowly enveloped me.

My mind began to imagine,
That this mournful cry was meant for me,
Showing the world publicly,
The pain and longing within me.

A mournful song yet beautiful,
A different way to start my day,
A boat warning another boat,
'Here I come, I'm on my way!'

This unknown prescence and I,
We mourned together a while,
We mourned of many things,
Things I only think of once in a while.

No tears were shed,
Yet I felt a cleansing,
Like the forces themselves,
Were mine for the lending.

So together we played our mournful song,
We cried for things lost, friends lost,
Times lost, souls lost,
I think we exorcised some of the ghosts.

I hope it's foggy again tomorrow,
And again the forces and I will sing our song,
And start another day with more hope,
Hoping that happiness and peace join us in song.

Mournful sounds and hopeful words.
Quite a mixed pair.
Enjoyed!

Excellent Isis. . .

Sometimes, we need that cleansing to let go of the things that hold us back. . .

Wonderful poem. . .
