I need no savior

Pretty illusions dancing upon your "holy" wall
Spitting saviors at the ones that fall
Beating down deamons and sin
Claiming entire purity within
Speaking quotes from your bible
Insisting that I need a "God" for moral survival
Screaming of my blasphemy
Crucifying the individuality that exists inside me
I need no savior
Favor
and I tire of your sickening religious flavor
choking me
with so called purity
step back into the light
leave me to savor the mysteries of the night
and my rite
of so called sin
seathing within.

dwells in every soul..."

I am tears of pain, tears of Death.

So true, so true...again, a poem that viewed in different perspectives gives different meanings to the reader.  From the standpoint of a Christian religion, this borders on outright rejection of God.  But when viewed in the context of a lover's relationship with another, it's the rejection of a smothering kind of love....a one-sided, "why can't you love me like I love you" kind of relationship.  Forgive the analysis, but I really liked this.  Hardrock

Now this is more what I think of when I think of dark passions. Intense. "Crucifying the individuality that exists inside me." We like this, we do. I'd explain more but then I'd be burnt at a stake. *grin*

Hmmm.  I like this.  Anti-religion.  You've inspired me to post an old one of mine.

I'll add this I do believe in God, but it is the phanatics that hurl it at your constantly that make religion seem a misery.
A friend may feel it is his/her duty to tell you God is the answer etc.  but having it rammed down your throat constantly is wrong.
To a lot of people religion is a private thing anyways.  Also some believe God could misinterpret it as gossip..?????
My thoughts we have the right to believe what we want to believe and no one has the right to pummel you constantly with their beliefs...
They feel they are doing the right thing.. spreading the word etc...  but too much of anything is never right..
Great thought provoking piece - Good work

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

I am glad that you all liked this as you did.

Hardrock, I love it when you read them from different views...makes my own words much more interesting to myself. After I read your reply I went back and re-read it as a realationship poem...and was surprised to see how much sence it made that way as well. Thank you so much!!

gothicmoth, Please please explain, I promise to hide all stakes  : }~  I am curious!

FJiznit, am honoured to see that it inspired you.

Isis, I agree...all are entitled to thier own opinion as well as religion, or lack of. "Bible thumpers" make me want to hurl, that is all! I myself do not believe in "god", but I do not have a problem with those that do as long as they are not choking me with it or attempting to save my constantly. Thank you for your input!

Jerehmiah, of course I am our here...I am glad that I gave you insite into your own ways!!
