Alone Again

Once again the sun has risen, yet I am comforted not by it's offer of abundant warmth. Frozen within this cloak of suffocating darkness I find myself once more. The ever so brief glimmer of hope, which was so cruelly and tantalizingly held before me drowned, like all those before.

The cold  winds of winter despair, descend upon  the spring of my renewal, stripping away my happiness, leaving me  raw and bleeding, broken, naked, humiliated and hopelessly destroyed.

From within the tortured remains of my heart are squeezed the last drops of hope, their taste immediately familiar, as in the form of tears they pause upon my lips, before continuing their journey slowly down my face.

Loving one so deeply has condemned me to a life in which none is returned, as the one who is loved loves me not in turn. The absolute abyss, love in a vacuum, trapped and isolated, unwanted and unfulfilled.

Memories that torture come unbidden, cruel reminders of what once more might have been, and shall never be again. They leave me as they find me; alone and cold, shivering within the envelope of darkness that has become the dwelling of my destitution. Lonely and hurting, hungry and afraid.
Alone.
So alone.
Always so lonely and alone.

Dear Prometheus

This is so sad my friend, it nearly had me in tears!  It really cut home, and has a sad, poetic longing to it.  Don't worry, the right person will come around I'm sure, just don't give up.  And remember to look out for yourself first.  *hugs*
And if it helps to unload here, please continue!

Chin up, my friend!
Sylvia

Slvia,

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement.
Each word of encouragement when added to others soon becomes enough nourishment to renew the soul. God Bless....jamie

This is so touching, the pain and the longing, and the disappointment. It seems that happiness is so shortlived, and the memories or the dreams are all thats left. I really felt this one in my heart
Take care

Jamie,

Again I am in tears...you touch this hard heart of mine and break it every time. Love will come again to one who has the power to touch others with his words

Hon this is so sad, nearly had me crying too!!
You write exceptionally well, drawing in the reader. To write of such pain so eloquently is indeed a gift, you should put this in the web voices book, but I fear it may be to personal for you????
I'm pleased to see by your responses you know in time and with faith you will find your way again, and you will find someone whom will stay..
*hugs*  I'm at a loss for words really!!

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

Dear Prometheus
Is it not in the nature of things
That you
A lover so true
Should learn the true meaning of love
By losing love?
How else would you know its depths?
And yes - sad but true - they do tend to forget
Can it be thou hast forgotten the yesterday?
When nightingales sang all along thy way?
And starry eyed thou walked along by his side
Yea He! Whom thou abandoned along life's way!

Your soulmate WILL return to you - do NOT give up. And let not any one dilute your love. Keep it eternally shining.
Deepak
