Introspection

I wonder if I steal my poetry,
Is there no original line?
Or do I just copy what’s already been said,
And put it all to rhyme?

Do I write honest emotions?
Do I open up my heart?
Or do I just mimic what real poets write,
And take their words apart.

Am I no more than a wordsmith,
Have I lost my ability to feel?
Have I shut myself off completely,
So I no longer know what is real?

Am I afraid that through my writings,
Someone may see the real me?
That I’ll reveal too much,
Feel their touch,
And once again yearn to be free?

Maybe I should stop writing,
Until I find out what’s really inside,
Then figure out why,
My life’s a lie,
And it’s behind your words I hide.

I want to be upfront and honest,
I want to let you all in.
But I think I need time,
To master the rhyme,
And let honesty flow from my pen.

Across the gateway of my heart,
I wrote "No Thoroughfare!!"
But love came laughing by and
Cried "I enter everywhere!!!"

NO you should not stop writing..I am looking forward to every new one you put up. This was great, we all have doubts, and you expressed it perfectly.

This kind of strikes a chord with me.  It's kind of how I think about my writing sometimes, maybe even how I deal or don't deal with my emotions.  I like it.

Hi Hardrock,
Your writing is great!
Sometimes when I write a poem it seems so lame so I hide it away and months later
find it and read it.And realize how real those feelings were.
Coming to dark passions really helps me too
with all the feed back and love and understanding thats here.
So please don,t leave us

Posting regularly can sometimes be hard.  People are kind of judging you and what you say.. does he really think this way?  Is he insane?  Is it real emotion or fantasy???  The questions can go on and on, I used to worry what people think too.  But I've learned to write what I want to write or NEED to write, and that is the important part.  Not what other's think.  Writing can often be a form of therapy etc/venting it can really help cleanse the worry or the soul.
No one here judges hon, but if we read something disturbing we may ask if you are ok.  That is only caring, and that is what our passions family is all about.
Write, be happy, cleanse, work through questions or problems, it's a beautiful way to work

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

When I read your poem I thought gosh is he talking about me, and then I realised I don't even read poems until now, so how could I copy. The way you write is wonderful, I can't write happy poems, (but I have tried a couple you will see them. YUK) I can't even write sad poems anymore because yipee! Im not sad anymore but I still have a few more to show, but after that who knows, I need to keep reading and learning so I to can keep writing because I Love It, and so do you, so even if you think your coping who cares I wouldn't know.

All the words have been used, this is true,
But I do not use them the same as you.

All the emotions felt long before now,
but we all express them differently somehow.

It isn't the words we use nor even sometimes how we arrange them,, just remember there is only you, who feels, thinks, and writes the way you do.
