DEFINING WAY:

As a blood-red rose
My love bloomed

Now it's gone, who knows
Now it's doomed

As a bright, shining star
My passion burned

Now it's removed so far
From backs turned

As an ornate precious stone
My enthusiasm glowed

Now it's returned, alone
Slowly it slowed

They say: ignore what others say
But it always changes, hurts
In some defining way.

(This is a short poem about the destructive and often permanent effect others' words and deeds have on us.)

Sylvia.

Sylvia....you said it so eloquently.  As my ex love said to me, "I should have never listend to my friends.  I should have followed my heart".  Even well meaning friends step on our hearts sometime.  Hardrock

I was taught that thou shal not kill, even with words.
great poem kid.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.
