I live this life, I try my best
I have so many questions
sometimes I search, I'm on a quest
quite open to suggestions

I want to need, I need to Love
but still my heart says "No"
another chance, floats from above
drifts by amongst the "flow"

Alone I feel, alone I sit
friends always close at hand
I'm not alone, but still the hole
in which Love used to stand

I love my friends, they love me back
so how can I feel lonely?
I stand in light, but seems so black
'cause no~ones' here to hold me

Quite backwards I feel, my feelings do seem
with so much good in and around me
but intimate Love, to me just a dream
entangled and almost twice drowned me

So why do I want? and why do I need?
this one thing that my life is lacking?
I wish I could change, I wish I could plead
I wish I could find my heart slacking

Love can drive you wild, Love can drive you mad
Love lately has sure had me thinking
I'm happy and free, but also so sad
these feelings may drive me to drinking

Love taught me to feel, Love taught me to cry
Love taught me to be true and real
Love taught me to hate, Love makes me ask why
Love is all that can make me heal

One small little word, so many emotions
from heaven to hell in one trip
such violent aray, such deadly devotion
just waiting for me to soon slip

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.

BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL!!!
This is a beautiful poem
I was there for so many years
and fought it afraid to let go
after being hurt so many times
But i have been lucky.
I hope you find your true love
and enjoy and appreciate it.
great poem

Simply wonderful, love and so many emotions.
god I love this stanza.

One small little word, so many emotions
from heaven to hell in one trip
such violent aray, such deadly devotion
just waiting for me to soon slip

anyway, ?? God I love this. haha.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

Thank you both so very much for your kind replies and words of encouragement.  I know why I am where I am today, and frankly... I helped myself to get here, but I only wanted it to be temporary;  and now, when I want it all back, I am having troubles   lol  Hopefully, in time I guess.  Thanks again guys.

This was great. The hole where love used to stand..Boy can I feel that.
Lonely with and lonely without, thats how it goes for me. Yet you always want it again. What fools are we??
I don't care, love is worth it.

Great poem, Thunder......and because I tend to write in rhyme and meter, I appreciate all the effort.  But it's your words that speak out to so many hearts...mine included.  Bravo!!!  Hardrock

I'm not one to like rhyme at all but this poem was beautiful, every part of it...

I love my friends, they love me back
so how can I feel lonely?
I stand in light, but seems so black
'cause no~ones' here to hold me

this is my favorite part, it is so hard to be happy when all you want is someone to hold you.
loved it

I absolutely loved your poem, I am going through the same thought patterns, I keep trying to tell myself I'm happy being single, I'm not alone but I'm so lonely, I believe I am ready to love again its just the wait for him that hurts.

..caught up in the confusion that lonelyness causes

I love this one!

I'm dying to be able to...

...Slip
(and fall in love with someone new, who wants me for me, not for what they want me to be)

Don't think I'm ready. Enough is enough. I just want to crawl into a box and wait.
