Father's Day Delight

Filthy father took it all from her,
broke and robbed every inch.
Stole every tear, and left her here.
Threw every fear across these walls,
hands of fury right through.
Black eyes in the night, raping us all.
My mind of purity, and our souls.
My laugh buried in the side yard...
under the mud of your release.
Hair cuts on the cellar stairs
and flying when it's time.
Control and hatred,...
and all just your own fears.
Running on alcohol and greens,
and wishing we were dead.
Your little needles...
the splinters in your side.
Twisting us and pushing towards the door.
Your cigarettes and fire arms,
and all that made you macho.
The spotlights in the tree,
saw everything that night.
Witnessed you and all you are.
Razor tipped arrows,
and helpless little deer.
We'd run, but you'd catch up.
We'd hide, but you'd find.
Tissue trails,....to find our way back.
To the headless animals,
that you lined up at the door.
Porcupines in the sunroom,
gun shots in our sleep.
Deck dives and blood soaked hair.
Targets made of glass.
Your little splinters,....running.
Filthy father,...what have you done?
Off and seaking to spread your incurable disease.
Your hatred and black eye illness.
To reek havoc on another's soul.
To steal tears and hearts, and burn the good.
To vacuum blood when you need it,
and leave behind all the sharp...
The stabbing you inflicted.

Spitfire this was terrific writing!  Wonderful descriptions/imagery.  It causes such pain when a parent lets a child down.
They are role models pity more don't take that honour seriously.
I hope this is made up and not your Dad..

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

Spit Fire,

Wow....what a powerful poem.  Scary images you bring to mind.  Great writing.  I can almost feel the fear my friend.  You take care.  Glad to see you getting it all out.

great goddess... laugh... I was just thinking about this subject tonight.
"black eye illness" kind of caught me broadside. This is powerful material. Perhaps journal-worthy.

Hmm... I too felt the fear in this poem.  A good piece of writing.
