Just me

Crystal  memories of yesterday
drift in and out with a haunting sweetness.
Child like giggles savoring summer waves
Night winds of gayety beach pyres
within a whispering haze.

Grinning ear to ear, feeling old friends
with a purity of thought.
Laughing out loud with time
their souls had bought.

Feeling loves of forgotten times
lost ferries of a long dormant youth.
Swimming waters finding life
of an aged old coot.

‘Twas a good run most will never know
midnight bike rides howling at the moon.
Sewing oats of youthful experiences
loving loves of my life, till they swoon.

It’s dog years we live my friend
and life’s to short a living,
So give it all you got
before it winds up a given.

Sew your oats a quickly
and run to the nearest tree
carve you name within it’s bark
put her name and then say just me.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

This one flows really well and the word choices are excellent. My favorite lines are "Laughing out loud with time/their souls had bought." The nostalgic bug seems to be catching around here. Wonderful work, Joel the wolf.

~Joel,...you see, now I am feeling all reserved in my replying....thank you. (Go check out Isis's Imagine once again). hehe.  I am going to simply say that I enjoyed reading this and found it's message to hold much importance.  Well written. Lovely images.  Take care. *Peace.

Joel... sigh you make me nostalgic for times that weren't even mine. Great flow, great rhythm, like memories coming and going.

Dad, I too howl with past memories both good and bad, and I too miss that zest from youth.
We still have it, it just isn't as  RAW as it used to be.
I'd have loved to know you then!! LOL
Melancholy in small doses is good hon, just don't live or hide in the past.
Love ya big fella!!

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

Whew...Somtimes the pain of life eclipses our zest for life...
Thanks for an eye opener the time is too short not to enjoy it!
