she
his only star

he
longs from afar

to feel the breath
to smell the hair
to touch the skin
of his only star

he
her only star

she
longs from afar

to be the breath
to be the smell
to be the touch
of his only star

Uta, what a great poem! It is different to your others... If only they could get together!!

This is lovely, and sad. I want to ask why they are not together but I know as well as anyone how some loves simply cannot. I loved the rhythm of it.

This is sad when two beings want the same thing but don't realize it or can't have it.
I like the mirror imagery.

Tara, you are right, I do seem to have been writing poems of a different style lately. I don't know what's come over me! (see "She and I" in crit analysis, 'scusing the gratuitous advertising   ).
Gothicmoth, I've been feeling rather reflective recently

I agree the imagery was excellent!

This is excellent!

What a great idea, this love from afar I've known, what a great idea...

love it...

Somemes we don't have to be so far away to long for someone who may want us also. Sometimes life or words just get in the way. When that happens we might as well be a million miles away from each other.

Thanks again folks! I'm glad you all liked it!
And yes, tac, the distance is merely metaphorical.
