   A long time ago,
   I have myself to blame.
I'd turned my back on you,
   when you called my name.

   Now the time it passes,
but still it moves so slow,
   I just can't believe it,
   that I'd let you go.

   I watched you give up,
   and turn you heart away.
   I looked on in silence,
   without a word to say.

   For too long I waited,
   hoping you would see.
   That all I really wanted,
was you to come back to me.

   I reached out too late,
   you were already gone.
What good would it do me?
to say that I was wrong.

   The time we had together,
   seems so long ago.
Did we even have a chance?
   now I'll never know.

Yes, a sad poem indeed. But you should always let people know what you feel, least you regret it for the rest of your life!

God my friend this hurt so much, what a way with a pen you have.
If this is in your life then my heart out to you, if not then you have looked into mine, I have reached out maybe to late as now.
Anyway great job on the tear.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

I don't believe it's ever too late to reach out!

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown

Wow.  This is an emotional topic I'm sure many people have experienced.  It is a sad one indeed, but as the others have said, it is never too late to reach out.  After all, you will never know only if you do not try, and that is one of the worst mistakes a person could make in their life.  Hang in there.

I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken- and I'd rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as long as I lived.
