Sitting in my closet is a box

I avoid even catching a glance

And I never dare to open

But there comes a time

For years have passed by

so I must unleash the boxfull of lies

Each time you did it

I simply wrote

It's carved the incidences

And left no memories

A boxfull of lies now uncovered

A roomfull of sorrow

A heart full of shock and pain

A boxfull of lies now the truth

Etching it's way to infinity

No pain seems to cease

The boxfull of lies - you gave me for keeps.

If all was light...then I would have never learnt the dark...from which such truth evolves
from which evolves the light...

you've done a really good job here, this reads really smoothly, the memories that come back to haunt you, huh? I love the way you hide the bad things in the box, but like Pandora, you have to let them out.

My how I've missed you
hello my poetic friend...
*******

some pain we indeed carry with us
some things must be opened up and released
if it was anothers "lies" that haunt us
we need to let those ghosts go
they are not our lies to be haunted by
we need to set our selves free of them
though that is the hardest to do ...I know
but as I always say ...
Butterflies are meant to be free...
take care my winged poet friend

And it's good that I'm not angry,
I just need to get over,
I'm not angry, anymore
Cry when you cry,
run when you run,
love when you love,
represent the ashes
that you leave behind

It's been a while Avanti...hasn't it? Well this was a great poem just flowing with emotion. I know it's not easy but as I've said before to people with feelings somewhat the same.... hold onto your past but don't let your past hold onto you. There comes a time when even what has been broken will fly again...

Nice to see you again hon!!  I have a box myself but mine is filled with treasured momento's not lies and pain.  Open the box, deal with it, and then turn it into a treasure box filled with happy jewels..

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

Avanti,

I see what you meant when you replied to my poem Someday.  Wow...that is awful.  I have a notebook full of those feelings.  They are awful, but I had to write them all out to keep my sanity.  The truth always comes out...that is for ceretain.  Great piece.

yes my friend I to have a box like this and haven’t opened it yet, too much in side. too little time.

Hello    I wish to add my comments here too... I believe in order for one to heal they must open the box, for only in doing so can one go through the grieving process necessary to carry on with life... and to move on to a better life... A good poem.

This was moving. It could have also referred to an "inbox" where the pain is unreal, shattering and tears  your gut out.
