To gaze upon this face I see,
Is to challenge truth’s reality,
For who am I to think such thoughts,
Be still my heart tells me naught.

To look into those eyes so bright,
Is to see the sorrows of her plight,
Tho' not a tear shed in public sight,
Rather awaiting the quiet of the night,

To look into her heart so pure,
To dream of a love that could never be,
Is perhaps more than one can endure,
For altho' I love her...could she love me?

Welcome!!  Another true poet has joined the ranks!!!  We women go ga ga over writings such as this.  You'll do well here hon!!
The feelings you describe are normal, sadly most of us never think we are good enough.
We should all work on our self and beliefs in self a bit more...
Great piece and welcome

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

Welcome to Passions, you really have made a grand entrance here with this poem. It is so romantic and pleasing to the ear. This is more than sweet nothings..it could melt a heart of stone, in my opinion.

Yes, welcome. I loved it too. And any woman wants to know if you love them that much, so if you haven't already, tell her!

I thank you all for your replies.  If only I could tell her...but alas...after her husband recently passed away at my age...knowing her...knowing him...knowing myself...this is a love that I will carry endlessly and in agony.   ((((( HUGS ))))) 'n' Thoughts All
