In Pain is stronger than love I mentioned that I was in long term relationship that is not really working out. I've been there for a long time, and this one talks a little about my situation. I've tried to reach out to her but she really can't be reached. She has been there for a long time, and I really can't continue like this.

Sleeping with a Corpse
by tac

I reach out for your hands
I feel the coldness of your touch
how can two who shared such passion
now only share pain
the pain of loneliness
together yet no feelings, no love
I think of years gone by
words we never said
we never looked into each other's soul
we never saw that child within each other
crying out for love
all that we have left are the remnants of our lives
the responsibilities, the routines
it feels so cold
it feels like I am dead

Hi
I can relate to it..something changes but not to this extent...something is missing and it feels strange..open up and reach out for your hearts...you'll find the misssing things..love lives longer when we feel its dying down...

Sincerely

Hi Tac, You do a great job of expressing the emptiness you feel, your desperation and impotence (in the sense of not being able to act) in this poem. I'm not sure who is the corpse, though, you or her? Also, it would be nice if you could explain in a bit more detail what has actually happened in your relationship, because I don't really follow.

How sad this is. It is hard when you reach out to touch and that touch is not return.
I too, am in a tough situation like you are. Been together many years(not married though)
and am at a loss at wehat to do. Good luck {{hugs}}

and show the world all the love in your heart
Then people are gonna treat you better
You're gonna find, yes you will

Tac, I've felt the same thing hon.
Have you tried everything?  Talking, what does she want, what do you want?  What do the two of you want as a couple?  When she goes to pull away go after her, take her hand, talk some more or just hug her...
BUT if you know you have given your all and can give no more if this is true, really true, then perhaps it's time to move on.  Don't live your life without your soulmate, it makes a bitter reality....  *hugs*  email me if you'd like to talk, and I hope you don't think I'm prying... It is all said with genuine caring..

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

~Hey there,...I know someone very close to me who is in this same sort of situation.  It's a tough call.  I agree with Isis on this one...to give it your all..and if you do or have and find it still not blossoming...then perhaps it is time...like she said, "Don't live your life without your soulmate, it makes a bitter reality...."...it's difficult for me to reply like this as I feel I am saying too much and possibly putting my nose where it doesn't belong.  I honestly just hope that things work out for you.   Please take care. *Peace.

~Oh and Isis,..hope you don't mind me quoting you...you're a wise and kind person and I thought what you said to be true. Thanks hon. .

Thanks for the replies. It really helps, more than you can imagine.

I stumbled into Dark Passions by chance, looking for words to say to my girlfriend to try and get her back. I found so much more, and each day I find more bits and pieces of myself. I never thought I had it in me to express my feelings like this.

Thanks caring (all of you), especially lotharingia, you are an angel from above sent by God especially for me. (Thanks for the email). I had to say that publicly.

tac...
I know that lifeless feeling...
and i am glad you write...
here in passions we all appreciate it...
it's great to express...
just hang in there and write...
cause here someone is always listening to you... : ) : )
you'll do just fine...

If all was light...then I would have never learnt the dark...from which such truth evolves
from which evolves the light...
