Sometimes I pray for a turn of the page
if there's a chill on the air in the room.
I hear small voices surface their rage
but i'm hoping for a peace easy mood.

Sometimes I ride on a heavenly cloud
with the taste of your lips on mine.
I don't want to be an angel myself
but you're taking up all of my time.

I know the feelings I've got them myself
and we'll have to give them up in time.
Someone hurt you and they hurt as well
but you've got to stop losing my mind.

If I'm not in love I know how it goes
and I can't deny the past can be real.
I'm not afraid for the work that we've done
and I'll wait til your faith can be healed.

Sometimes I see through your eyes and you're cold
but I'm learning how to bring you up warm.
I'm always willing to hear from your soul
because the other man left your heart torn.

I know there's times when it's so hard to see
a heart on a limb in a forest of trees
but I keep my vision, my eyes on the world
I'm just saving a place for the other man's girl.

Every night I can't breathe all alone
since I've come to stay close to your side.
The other forces we know how they go
they're as soothing as oil at the time.

Sometimes I wish for a miracle light
and I wish that you'd let me come in.
Sometimes I find that my thinking's not right
and the truth is behind me again.

But if I can revive the love that you hide
I know your heart can make it again.
I'm not beyond the bare truth in time
and if it hurts me I'll understand.

So if I'm not behind some hope in your mind
there's a chance you're second guessing my best,
cause I'm way beyond a mere compromise,
someday I've got to put it to rest.

Sometimes I hope for the better or worse
somehow I'd like it if there was a plan
But I'm still willing to wait out the curse
because I'm nothing like the other man.

Sometimes I feel that the caution's untrue
sometimes I figure that I should rush in.
But I know it's a game I could lose
because I'm nothing like the other man.

I know at times it's so hard to see
a heart on a limb in a forest of trees
but I keep my vision, my eyes on the world,
I'm just saving a place for the other man's girl.

There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.

This certainly needs a boost in the right direction; would all men be this understanding, generous and compassionate... why, there wouldn't be any war...
