In the space between moments

0 posted 2000-07-22 05:56 PM

Autumn light spirals
Falling into nests of vibrant gold
Hovering gently
O'er walls of shifting green
And crowning the cerulean sky
In pearls of liquid glimmer.

An expanse of ivory skin
Once hallowed with the dreams
Of sweetly unknown 'morrow
Is now falling into the icy chill
Of a wintered reverie
Teardrops cling to silver'd lashes
As the saffron orb of sun
Falls just short
Of a straining soul's grasp.

Silence slowly falls
As steeled sky closes 'pon the light
Muffling sorrowed thoughts
The stretch of muted grey
Bringing forth simply lonliness.

Crystal snowflakes lace the land
The tundra barren, dead
Sweet ribbons of Autumn's gold
Have flown from reach
Leaving now
A spirit cold and forgotten.

Memories of what had once been
Are now just
Dreams which can never be.

Krista, a beautiful poem, shining with your wonderful imagery! I loved this much and I think you should have a book just for your own poetry too... It would be a masterpiece for sure

Beautiful poem. The ending is such a wonderful conclusion emphasizing the importance of life's cycles regardless of what they may be. Very well done. I enjoyed it thoroughly....take care...ethome..

Wow Krissa!  What a beautiful poem.  I greatly agree with Abe... you could have a book all your own.  I'm glad you submitted another poem!  Wonderful job!

Ver nice poem..........Sorry I'm not as good with words for comment like all these other wonderful people.....either I'm not good at it or they just take the words out of my mouth.....LOL
I do agree with all though.
