theres a moment
between sleep
     and dream
where my heart aimlessly
          wanders.
theres a fire
being snuffed somewhere
in a soul
with used-up wishes.
          only sadness remains.
     laughter heals the wounds
     but for a moment.
          love is something far away...

theres a second
when my heart forgets
and boldly believes again--
but seconds fade,
     and memories linger--
and scars dont wash away...

thanks debbie, for your reply..
i wrote this with the on-again/off-again realization that i no longer had a marriage and i and my baby were now living with my mom, who was gracious enough to take us in--me with no job..it got real lonely sometimes...

Hi DGV

I only saw this today and realized it was the same title that I posted in the pub a couple of days ago,I've been absent due to a family loss.

When I read it, it seems we are coming at the same theme,of loss, from a slightly different angle, now that's POETIC.

I'll change my title if you wish me to.

Sorry about the error.

Jon

I pinched myself as soon as my eyes began to water. Your word reach places deep within us.

dg - this is so heart wrenching, and written so beautifully.  It certainly does tug at those strings.  Bonnie
