LOVE

The epitome of pain.
The emotional drain.
The withered strands of a life,
Waiting on a wife.

The curse to which I'm prone,
A court jester on a throne.
The kingdom of disarray,
Disillusion and decay.

The lies spoken in silence.
The passion provoked to violence.
The expression in your eyes,
A tightened grip on severed ties.

Forgotten images of a dream.
A gaping rictus, a muted scream.
A voice echoing in my head.
The ambivalence of living dead.

The darkness on my soul.
The emptiness, its whole.
The sheen of tears uncried
Upon dead eyes, opened wide.

Forgone conclusions of wrath,
A reiterating aftermath.
The price paid to appease
A pining one could never please.

The ever-pendulous emotions.
The fragmented whimsical notions.
The garnishment of a name,
A brandishing of shame.

The puzzle missing a piece,
A chimera, a caprice.
A word that only tips the tongue
From the song we never sung.

Michael Anderson

Michael; Sad but the reality sometimes. You put it all together so poetically and beautifully. Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

a perfect example of why your poetry
always effects me so deeply ...
it will always be hard to read the pain
even tho it is expressed with such amazing grace

How could I not vote for this. It is written in such a flow, and the pain is felt even by the reader.

No one can write of feelings quite the way you can! You can really feel the emotion flowing out of this. What heartbreak.
You do it best Michael. ~Miss ya~

This is incredible, Michael. Man, do you have a way with words and a way to state, for the most part, of what I'm going through. You are an awesome writer. Hope you don't mind that I print this. I definitely have to share this with others. Hope you find a loyal Love.

Peace,  Geoffrey
