Entrapment

Hopelessely bound
        unfettered
by the chains of love's grip
    -greatest gift,
     fate's cruelest curse.

Wherefore do I weep
   at knowing the joy,
              the warmth,
   at feeling the peace,
              the fire.

Wherefore do I weep
    unable to complete ,
           to be,
   unknown the kiss,
           the flames.

Wherefore do I weep
    at loving not living
       seeing not touching
    breathing not sharing
      holding not loving?

All,
     because I, The Fool,
                    am no more?

I thought about singing,
But I couldn't 'member all the words.
Breaking
But I couldn't get the pieces apart.
Laughing never knowin' what the joke was about,
Now I'm down...

ME FIRST ME FIRST!!!

Wherefore and why, indeed, my friend.  We have all spoken these words to ourselves at one time or another (though probably not so eloquently, as we had no one to impress but ourselves!)

This is a wonderful piece, Chris. It deserves to be in the book!

There are times when you reach down into the core of my soul and rip it out. How, my dear friend, do you know me so well? My heart, my soul and my pain.

Because life without love is not easy! Therefore weep my friend. On the other hand who said love was easy? So rejoice in that you have yourself!

Love it Chris!

Chris,
This is way up there... A brilliant piece written with the most eloquence...

Chris, This is twisted with so many emotions!
Being captured by love that you don't have.
Love, something so wonderful yet so painful!
Feelings of loving what you're missing and yet not
knowning what you're missing!
Very well done Sir!

My sweet friend, it's NEVER too late!

Wow. I sit here trying to think of some clever reply. Something to let you know how much I love this poem. And I can't think of anything to say except:

I love this poem!

Excellent Christopher   Enjoyed it much

Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive,
my body goes on, my spirit has died,
and I though alive, feel dead inside.

Fear not the whip Christopher ...
for this is absolutely wonderful!

Beautiful, eloquent, and sweetly tender,
