I stand in a meadow
The melody of her voice weaves
Subtle webs around me
I am held captive
By her searchlight eyes

Don't emancipate me
Don't emancipate me
Don't emancipate me
I'm happy where I am

Please don't free me
Please don't free me
Please don't free me
Please don't free me
Why?
Don't wanna be lonely

Don't wanna be free of
Don't wanna be free of
Don't wanna be free of
Love

So Mister Stove Pipe Hat Man
I hopes you understand
That I am held captive
By her searchlight eyes
And I'm happy where I am

As I sit here dimly thinking
Watching modem lights a-blinking
Churning out poetic hash.
Lord, in all Your piety,
Help me keep my sanity:
Please don't let the modem crash! --Alicat

Okay Ali, I just have to comment on this one.  Yanno, of course I think this is a great poem because you're quite an amazing poet...I can really hear you reading this in one of your many varied wonderfully whimsical 'reading' voices.  (Either that, or I've forgotten to take my pills...)

Very cool, m'dear.  Exceptional.

No, I didn't vote for my own poem...
I just wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to read and comment on the one poem I've written that I can actually remember.  I swear, sometimes I think my mind is like Swiss Cheese...full of holes and ... well, cheesy...hmmm.....
