Forever In Your Heart

Oh how sweet,
Your tiny little eyes,
Looking back at me,
I get happy just watching you breathe,
Seeing you hold up your fingers,
Counting to three,

What a joy,
A blessing I have been given,
A life so precious,
You are my life I am living,

To hold you close in my arms at night,
To kiss your soft little cheek,
As I turn out the light,

You are my happiness,
My smile, my life,

Joy you bring,
To my heart to sing,

Sweet lullabies,
To you everynight,

Trucks and cars,
Scratches and scars,

Crayons broken into,
little flowers picked,
To say mom,"I Love You"

Oh how I cheerish you,
I love you my sweetie,
Time goes by so fast,
I want ours to last,

Every minute, evey day I savor,
Watching you eat your favorite
Icecream flavor,

Playing with toys in the sand,
Holding on to my hand,

Kissing boo-boos,
reading nighttime stories,
Making cookies,

Camping out,
You are what life is about,

Playing games,
making crafts,
Playing tickle to see you laugh,

Oh How I enjoy the little things with you,
The little things about you,

Every moment measured,
Every moment treasured,

I am so happy with you,
And one day,

I will turn around,
As tears fall to the ground,

My little man,
will no longer be two,

A handsome man,
full of love and truth,

I will always look into those tiny eyes,
and see the little man of your youth,

You will always be mommies little man....

RH,

Having two "little men" of my own I know very well the sentiments behind this piece.
You have done a terrific job of showing us how precious they are when they're two

All my love,
Jeffrey

Yes, Jeff they grow-up too fast, my time on passions is limited, because children should come first, they need all the love and attention they can get, never do they stop needing it, nor will I stop giving it! Thank you!

Oh sweetie this is absolutely adorable, you have really made this a packed full of imagery poem. I can see you both now what magic you have portrayed in this piece.
I could see him looking at his fingers as he counted and then his eyes looking up at you for assurance...they are so beautiful children and they deserve our love and guidence always

RM, noone has expressed the joy of being a Mother better than you did in this poem. The love you have for your "little man" just flows from this poem.  He's a lucky little guy to have an incredible Mother like you!
Loved your poem!  No book would be complete without a beautiful poem such as yours on the very first page.
~~wonderful writing~~

Okay, you wrote "crayons broken into, little flowers picked." I read "Crayons broken into little flowers picked." And I thought -- holy ****, now THAT'S a poetic line. So even though you didn't really write that, who cares? Here's a vote.

Ah Yes... how I do understand those feelings... My daughters are fond of saying that "We'll always be your little babies."  How true... how true.  I'm sure your son will charish your words in his adulthood.  Best of luck and love with your little man.  Peace!

OK, moderators, slap my hand if you must for voting twice for one poem, but one as beautiful as this deserves a second read.

A poem as touching as this deserves all the votes that care to be rendered.
I can honestly say that my life would not be the same without my angels, ALMOST made me want another one.   Beautiful words of love here.

Hi A Romantic Heart, got to love those kids at that age. Enjoy, enjoy, because he is only going to be two once. Love this down to earth expression of a mother's love.

Very lovely poem. I too love poems about children..........I also agree about him being your life, my kids are my life. They sometimes say "I'm not a baby anymore mommy" so I had to explain that to me........they will always be. Then they just smile and say "ok, mommy if you say so" When I wrote the one for my kids (Always there), my oldest daughter(11 yrs) cried and said"I didn't know you loved us that much" cute huh? LOL
you wrote a wonderful poem.......

Heather
