Come gentle rain and wash away the pain
Erase her memory from my brain
And let me live again

Wash the sadness and the tears away
Let me see the sun someday
Here along the bay

Cleanse me of the fears
That have grown through the years
And open up deaf ears

Purify my wounded soul
Send me love to fill this hole
Where anger has taken its toll

Give me strength to face the trek
Always looking forward, never back
At my old life, a wreck

Come gentle rain and wash away the pain
Erase her memory from my brain
And
   let
      me
        live. . . Again

This is so beautiful, the words and the

This is a beautiful poem, but it's also so sad. I hope that the rains come soon for you, my friend. Meanwhile, take comfort in knowing that you have my vote!

Sven,

Good choice for the book my friend.

Sven, what a bittersweet poem, beautifully written and from the heart.  I loved the presentation and the ending.  You are so talented.  I relate very much to this, wishing that the rain could erase his memory from my mind.  Please take my vote

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee

Wonderful writing, but if ANY of our memories were erased, how would we then keep our lessons in mind?

Great work Sven! I wish it was as easy as being washed by a gentle rain. Then again where would all this poetic beauty be hiding.
Excellent read.

It's always hard to forget someone you once loved so dearly eh? Share your feeling. A very good read.. keep it going, sven.
