Your vacant stare
The painful silence
Echoes through this empty void
Love so beautiful
You so vibrant
All of it now destroyed

You look at me
With unseeing eyes
How can you miss my pain
Not one tear
From eyes unblinking
I cry and I cry in vain

I took for granted
You would always be
Now I find myself alone
So many things
I should have said
If only I could have known

I profess too late
My need for you
No joy on your slackened face
I'm left with naught
But my misery
In this cold dark silent place

One more time
I kiss your lips
Unmoving unfeeling you lie
I take your hand
And lose my heart
As I wish you one final goodbye...

A great poem. I'm sure she cherishes it where she is. I loved it.

I am really moved by this poem.. almost weeped, but suppressed. people often take for granted what they possess, and only feel the grief when they lose them.. Though I haven't any experience, I know if it ever happens to me, I would feel exactly like you once did.. it's the saddest poem i have found, true feeling.. a vote is well deserved.
