In the middle of the storm, I felt God smile
All my fears faded, if only for a while
Though it was dark and stormy, the tempest winds flew
In that darkest moment, I knew I'd make it through

I felt that peaceful smile, shine down from above
All in an instant, I was flooded with His love
The storm was not yet over, had a fight ahead
I had to take hold of, the Bible words I'd read

Remember that He loves you, He shall never leave
Cast your cares upon Him, and in His name believe
He's the breath that I breathe, the Rock of Salvation
He's the Lord Almighty, God of all creation

So when your tempest hits, and darkness is around
Know that God is with you, and feel His peace deep down
Know that you can make it, that God will keep you strong
The darkness will fade and the Light will come along

I can imagine this one a hymn in church. I admire your faith -- I have faith, too, but mine, I'm afraid, isn't nearly as open as it could be. I'm not even sure I want it as open as yours is -- I'm not sure why; I really enjoyed this, though.

Oh, Becky, I love this poem and it must be in the book.
"He's the breath that I breathe". Magnificent!  Love, Ellie

that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

this is a perfect choice to reflect your lovley work ...
so perfect in its message and the strength you find in your faith...
and then pass on to us...
which is the true gift of both faith and poetry.

Oh Sea, I'm sorry to hear about that. I'm glad it touched you though. He is there, he knows what's going on, and He promised us He takes care of our needs. He knows what we have need of before we ask.

I shall keep you both in my prayers, and I'm sure God will direct you. Just look at it as a better opportunity coming along!

So inspirational!  Your writing touches people......in the most beautiful way possible.  This is book material, but more importantly, Life material!
The first and best poetry book ever written was the Bible. It's nice to be reminded of that.
~~wonderful writing~~
