Leaves alone
Fear unknown
Searching for the rose
Lost
Blackness draws near
Crashing through leaves
Warmth lies in shadows
Strange among these trees
Unfamiliar to the eye
A rose
Impossible to see
Secluded in an image
Beneath obscurity
Through the gloom
Fading from view
Slipping
Forever passed
Vanished

"Creation of woman from the rib of Man: She was not made from his head to top him; nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him; but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved." -Unknown

such a beautiful display of something so simple as a rose.  Wonderfully done.

The best things in life are often hidden, we have to search for them...this poem is great.

Lovely!!  A rose isn't always a rose though hey! voted! loved it

Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive,
my body goes on, my spirit has died,
and I though alive, feel dead inside.

How fast the good poems pass us by when we blink...

by the way, the scent of your rose still lingers...

well done!
