In the space between moments

0 posted 2000-06-18 12:24 PM

Sighs sail within aqua dewdrops
And stream across my dreams...
Delirious kisses touch my skin
Like warmth from pale sunbeams...

Silver petals of liquid light
Fall gently in swooning eyes...
No thought drifts between us here
Beneath forever's sky...

....Breathe...just breathe...

Whispered words do glitter gold
Upon a pearled rainbow's wing...
And with the swell of emotion's tide
The harmony of love I sing...

Enwreathed within your tender arms
Teardrops of bliss do fly...
And caught within this perfect moment
Our souls together sigh...

....Breathe...and simply be...

I love this poem, my dear.  I wouldn't dare attempt capture a moment as soul touching as this one for fear of missing my mark, but you've given the feelings life by your words.  Needless to say you have my vote

This is beautiful, Krista! Pity there is only one little box to check instead of say ten or so. You got my vote!!

Krista,

This is a wonderful poem.  I'm glad you submitted it, cuz I would have yelled at you until you did.

This is worth it just for "Breathe...just breathe." It's all the more powerful the way you structured it -- having longer verses and stanzas, then simply that before heading into another stanza. It forces you to pause, and to breathe yourself. Very cool.
