Listening to every heart

Skyward Passings

Northern lass sits and sighs, looking southerly
Southern lad salutes the skies, looking northerly
he would be holding her in his arms, if he could
she’d lay her head on his chest, if she could

gazing south, she slowly wends her way
through the tempered actions of her day
looking north, he plods and works along
in his heart he hears sweet, a distant song

on eventide’s biggest star, she casts up a wish
into the night winds he offers, throwing forth a kiss
life’s paths crossed in time, once and then again
never knowing one another, until the when…

moon, shine on these two lonesome souls
guide them along to their eventide shoals
of long lost devotion’s remembering
when fate and chance would then bring

her to his arms, his kiss to her lips
her head on his chest, her hand to his hip
in slow dance time, a waltz under stars
for all the lost lovers, wherever you are…

Oh, my beautiful sister.....you do zero in on my heart with your words.  I love how you write, and this one has more meaning to me than you'll ever know!!
        So beautiful, so real........

Sunny1 - you've been so prolific lately I've not been able to reply to all of your posts, but I've been reading...

you've got a way with words yourself, and the duets you and Bill have been doing are marvelous...

thanks for peeking in...

Just wonderful Karilea. . .

The distance is never so far that the heart doesn't feel close. . .

Beautiful. . .
