Here’s to the Pride of Australia…
They make such a wonderful team…
They swim like none other, with lightening
fast speed…
Breaking records and hearts, it would seem…

I don’t usually watch the Olympics…
But this year there’s much going on…
So, I stopped at the channel where I saw the emblem and saw they were still going strong…

The swimmers were lined up and ready…
From countries all over the place…
Bent over and waiting for that special cue…
To begin their Olympiad race…

I watched as the swimmers all dove in…
The race was proceeding in stride…
When all of a sudden, my eye focused in…
On Australia’s spectacular Pride…

With a body well-honed to perfection…
And a face with a smile big and bold…
He broke the world record, not to mention
some hearts…
When he smiled as they gave him the gold!!

So, here’s to the Pride of Australia…
And that is one fine-looking team…
With blonde hair, and blue eyes and bodies so firm…
It’s the land of American dreams!!!!!!

Sunny, I just had to stop at a poem with a name like that. Great poem. We're pretty proud of our boys and girls. We're just not as vocal as you Americans. Well we are a quiet lot, aren't we Kethry.

Hey Sunny
This is great, we are a pround nation but we are abit quiet. I have noticed though with the olympics downunder we are coming out of our shells and are very vocal, It's good to see.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem.

Good morning Sunny,
Well done Sunny, I commend you on this writing to the Aussies. I believe they should make it part of their banner.

Wonderful writing from you and so nice to see that you are stepping up in the true spirit of the Olympiads and showing friendship between nations by showing you heart and bringing a gift as you offer your hand.  I commend you....."WAY TO GO AUSSIE'S"....I applaud you as well.

Hi eyesplus2....
First of all, many best wishes on your upcoming marriage!!!!! That's wonderful, and I know you'll be happy with your new dreams!!   Thank you.....

Hi Bill....
Thank you, and I just couldn't help but write about what I saw.  The young people of all the countries represented are doing such a fantastic job of promoting peace. It should give anyone watching a renewed hope in global peace.

Hi Mark....
I think the Australians have done a fantastic job of putting it all together for the games. I can't even imagine how much work and planning it all took, and they pulled it off without a hitch!!!
               Thank you, my friend!!

Did I mention that the student gets an A+ in her studies from a teacher who shouldn't be teaching?...yeah I did but didn't know if you came by to receive your grade.
