I fight your love
I won't let you in
Even if sent from above
I'll never let love win
***
Can't you see
There is no way
That you could love me
So Please... stay away
***
I don't want to show you
And cause you to turn
So I'd rather prevent you
Than to have you learn
***
I can't let you love me
And then have you go
Knowing that you hate me
Because of what you will know
***
The outside is a mask
And can shield my scars
Till you find your way past
And gaze at the bars
***
There's nothing I'd rather do
Than to love you always
But in order to love you
I have to revisit dark hallways
***
You tell me it's worth it
That I'll find "Me" in the end
But drenched with fear I sit
So afraid for those bars to bend
***
You say you'll wait forever
That this is meant to be
In the end we'll be together
For all that you want is Me
***
Leap of faith...or tossed to sea
Our dreams drawn across the sky
In the end you will finally see
So let's spread those wings....and fly
***

It happens so many times...we reject before we give them the chance to reject us. When you find the man that can see through that and still love you and give you the room you need to sort yourself out, then you are indeed blessed. Excellent writing, butterflies...

LittleButterfliesDon'tCry~
Yeah, they do cry ...
but softly on the shoulder of a loved one
who cradles the fragility ...
and rebuilds the strength,
until they can fly again.

This is a lovely vision of what can come
when love blows the breeze beneath the wings.

*Hugs*

Ever seen a butterfly defy you?????? LOL...my sweet....your tenacity and your hard head is just what this cowboy LOVES about you sooooo much.  Keep on shouting no as you whisper yes.....and you know that I will be forever there with you.  Cowboy loves a long hard ride in the rodeo of life but when it is ridden in love, trust, total commitment and the such it is an easy ride anyway.  Roping you in and holding you tight but never ever will I fold down your wings.  Fly high, fly proud, fly free in "YOU"...that is the butterfly that has my heart and my soul and my undaunted patience.

Awww Butterflies this so deeply touched my heart. I read and remembered two wonderful men that adored me that I pushed away. All because I was so afraid of their love. Beautiful read my friend.

I believe that if one doesn't step out of their comfort zone and take a chance, life hasn't been lived to its fullest.
Pain, worries and troubles are just a few things that build a persons charachter, and gives them strength.
I think the last stanza of this piece says it all!
This is a wonderful piece you've posted and I'm adding it to my library.

Butterflies dc this is a poem that really touches my soul. Beautifully penned, and do I know this road, all I can say is look very carefully at what you want to hide. Take care.

that last line says it all ...
seems to me you answered your own questions and quieted your own self doubts...
time to fly baby...
time to enjoy the flight...
kiss the moon and steal the stars

BDC,

I think you have learned the lesson well my friend.  You are ready to soar with the eagles high in the sky!!  I know you will make it.  After all, butterflies are meant to be free.     Take care.     This was wonderful.
