Brain Waves

Ocean song plays, shell held to ear
Solemn, fading reflections,
Illusions in sand-flecked pyrite -
Fool's gold poised for inspection.

A mind swept clean by shore breaks
Rolling in to erase the past tense
Tangled lives in leviathan kelp,
Saved up to savor, beach for rent.

To only wish for what was before
Or the gift to rush forward in time,
Cannot control our direction
Caught in gravitational rhyme.

Strange, this shift in the currents,
But reality is washed up these days,
So pardon me if I don't seem to flow
Or float upon these tidal waves.

Corinne,
Time and tide wait for no woman. However the moon stopped when I read this lovely piece.

but it is the loss that shapes the image,
gathers the flowers weaves the garland."-

Thank you, Kethry, for the kind words!

Sunshine, thank you very much!  I was quite touched by your words, and I wouldn't want to upset the sun!

Thanks, Doreen, is that your head??? Funny, it hasn't felt like mine, now I know!

Thanks, Denise!

What a terrific metaphor you've woven here, Corinne.  beautifully scripted to flow like your waves.  I enjoyed this very much.

beautifully penned poem Corinne,

My view stretches out from the fence to the wall No words could explain, no actions determine Just watching the trees and the leaves as they fall:Joy
